ECONI SUNDAY
4th November 2001
Exile and Homecoming - perspectives on biblical spirituality

ECONI Sunday aims to offer you and your congregation an opportunity to consider, within the context of your Sunday service, the issues that face us as Christians in a divided community. This year we explore the basis for a biblical spirituality that will sustain and guide us in our living as Christians in Northern Ireland. Working from 1Peter we examine the following themes:
    Our vocation
    Our model
    Our rule

There is a charge for registration of £10.00 to cover printing and postage costs. Your registration will be acknowledged by letter closer to the time and the Resource Pack will be posted to you two weeks in advance of ECONI Sunday.

Several ECONI staff and Steering Group are available to speak at ECONI Sunday services - if you would like to find out more about this please contact the Programme Co-ordinator at ECONI. (There is an extra charge for this to cover expenses.)

EMBODYING FORGIVENESS

The first paper in the Embodying Forgiveness series is now available. This paper looks at the use of the idea of forgiveness by psychologists and offers a critique from a Christian perspective. Future papers in the series will develop biblical and Christian reflection on forgiveness in relation to the individual, church and society in Northern Ireland. If you would like to know more about the series contact Alwyn Thomson or Stephen Graham at ECONI.

The Embodying Forgiveness Conference is taking place on Saturday 20 October at Grosvenor Conference Centre. Our keynote speaker is Greg Jones, author of Embodying Forgiveness. A series of seminars will explore the idea of forgiveness in the context of Northern Ireland. See the enclosed brochure for further details. For further information contact alwyn@econi.org
